The brief for this front and back garden was to create a haven for wildlife, a terrace, a new lawn removing the plastic backed old lawn, a pond, vegetable bed, storage, wood store and space for the composter. In the front the clients asked for planting, a new driveway and storage for bins.

The planting in the back incorporates an amelancheir tree which can be enjoyed from different view points in the house. There provides year round interest using evergreen shrubs. The perrenials have all been chosen depending on the aspect of the beds.

The garden has been designed so that maintenance is not a chore but a joy. Most plants will only need attention once a year and a mowing strip of pavers was added around the borders to eliminate the need for hand edging the lawn.
