The brief for this garden was to bring in wildlife, to be low maintenance so that the clients could go away for a month without the need for watering, two sitting areas east and west, raised beds, a shed, woodstore and reuse of the existing paving. They did not wish to have a lawn.
The design incorporated oak raised beds to match in with the new extension and the paving was relaid with some locally sourced gravel to break up the space.
A multi stemmed crabapple was planted to give height and interest. The planting was a mix of sunny perennials, shade loving plants and evergreen shrubs for year round interest.
